Tadelakt
Tadelakt is a traditional Moroccan lime plaster, hand-polished and soap-sealed to a naturally waterproof, seamless finish ideal for bathrooms and wet rooms.
Tadelakt is a centuries-old Moroccan technique using lime plaster that is hand-polished with a smooth stone and sealed with olive oil soap. The soap reacts with the lime to create a genuinely waterproof, seamless surface with a soft, tactile sheen, unlike anything achievable with tiles or standard render.
Because it is fully waterproof and jointless, Tadelakt is the natural choice for bathrooms, wet rooms, and shower enclosures where a grout-free, completely smooth wall is wanted. It also works beautifully as a statement wall outside wet areas, bringing warmth and texture that flat paint cannot match.
This is genuinely specialist work. Russ is one of very few local plasterers offering authentic Tadelakt, having completed full bathroom renovations where the client describes the result as breathtaking, seamless, and completely unique. It takes real time and skill to get right, which is why it remains rare outside high-end interior specialists.
