Microcement

Microcement is a thin, seamless cement-based coating applied to floors, walls, and worktops for a sleek, contemporary, jointless finish.

Microcement is a modern, cement-based coating applied in very thin layers, usually just a few millimetres, directly over existing floors, walls, or worktops. Because it is applied as a continuous coating rather than laid in tiles, the result is completely seamless, with none of the grout lines that define a tiled surface.

It has become the go-to choice for open-plan kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces wanting a contemporary, industrial-inspired look. Applied to a floor, it creates one uninterrupted plane running through a room; on walls, it gives the same seamless, tactile quality as polished plaster with a more minimal, concrete-like character.

Russ has applied microcement flooring through open-plan kitchen and dining spaces, delivering exactly the industrial look clients are after while keeping the practical durability a busy household needs. It is a genuinely specialist finish, one of the few offered locally, and sits alongside Tadelakt and polished plaster as the practice's premium decorative work.
